  E-Mail Solutions

In today's business environment, e-mail is an absolute necessity. Without it, competitive advantage is lost, and productivity declines as communication protocols are left to phones & faxes. But with so many methods to implement & manage e-mail messaging, what's the best approach for your business? This is where Circulent can help your company understand the short & long term needs so that the ideal solution is achieved

As you know, an e-mail address is associated with a domain name (e.g. yahoo.com, citibank.com, hotmail.com). However, businesses must choose to use a domain that is uniquely tied their their own name which preserves branding & credibility, and whether or not to host e-mail internally or externally for its employees. But which is better?

  The Internet vs. WWW

Many people use the terms Internet and World Wide Web (a.k.a. the Web) interchangeably, but in fact the two terms are not synonymous. The Internet and the Web are two separate but related topics.

The Internet is a massive network of networks. It connects millions of global computers together forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are both connected to the Internet.

The World Wide Web is simply a method of accessing information over the the Internet. It is an information-sharing model built on top of the Internet. The Web uses the HTTP protocol, only one of the languages spoken over the Internet, to transmit data from one network to another.

The Web is just one of the ways that information can be shared over the Internet. Other methods includes e-mail, instant messaging and FTP (file transfer protocol).
