  Workgroup Anti-Virus Solutions

Dozens of new viruses are discovered each day, some of them with the ability to spread globally within hours. Viruses cause severe financial damage to companies in many forms: Lost or destroyed documents, lost billable time, network & groupware downtime, and even loss of IT network productivity. To fully secure a computer network from viruses, the protection needs to be deployed at every tier of the network, from servers to laptops to workstations to mobile devices to firewalls & routers.

Gone are the days when a non-technical computer user could be ignorant about the risks and responsibilities associated with operating a computer connected to the Internet. So with your business of multiple employees, who is to manage all of these risks?

Cable or DSL?

A highly debated topic for years, there is no clear winner. Here's why:

DSL offers upload & down-load speeds from 144 Kbps to 1.5 Mbps, while cable can typically up to 2 times faster.

Now the reason there is no clear speed winner is be-cause cable technology is based on shared band-width, with many factors influencing a users download speed. For example, if your office building has multiple cable subscribers, the total bandwidth routed to your address will be allocated amongst all subscribers. However, with DSL, your connection is yours only, which means your speeds tend to be more constant.

Both DSL and cable speeds are largely dependent on the provider and either the distance away from the switching station or how many subscribers are in your immediate area.
